Reason for my absence is because of my lousy computer dying off, my uncle fixing it and my mother losing and finding my tablet disc. xD I also had to deal with a pregnant cat who couldn't have her kittens, which were all dead and bloated, when she's not ever ours. ... But she is now, so whatever.

WELL this is a trial.
First attempt at a butterfly.
And originally this was going to me practicing drawing clouds but....you can barely see it in the background.

I actually really rally like the soft clouds! I like the touch of yellow rays, too. I would probably put the butterfly and hand in front of the rays, as it draws attention away from the focus. Instead, try putting some highlights just at the edge where the sun would meet. You could also benefit from using more colors in your shading, too. The more different shades used, the better! You did such a good job on the design of the butterfly. The spots are just amazing!

the rays are fine in front of the clouds. I would probably just move the layer that has your hand and the one with the butterfly over top of the rays, as they are the focal point of your image, and you want them to be up front. then add highlights to them. kinda like this? http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&q=sunshine#/d2izuqy

only not as powerful since your lighting isnt so bright.

oh, wow yes! Do you see how the colors in your hand and on the butterfly pop now? I keep being drawn back to that orange color. I would love to see you use some red or blue hues on skin when you shade in the future (as shading isn't just a darker color of your base color, but added hue), but I think you should leave this one alone. If you play with one image too much you can end up ruining it, and I think you did such a swell job on this one already.

I bought RSE LGFR in an auction on eBay so I could do the challenge lmao ( also so I can have all the games -- gonna give Sapphire and FireRed to my boyfriend since I already have those two )

I think you can finish it. Just be aware of your Pokemon's stats and health, etc.
I have a feeling I'd be good at the challenge lol, since my Pokemon only ever faint like 3 times per gameplay.

Well... I just found out last night that a roll model of mine passed away a little over a year ago. And judging from the obituary and loved one's comments, it is a high possibility it was a suicide... I feel terrible, as not only was he an amazing artist to me, he was also a pagan, and definitely an influence in my studies. I actually found out what happened from visiting one of his pages, as I had a question to ask that only he could have answered. Haha. Life sure does know how to throw me for a loop recently.

I apologize in advance for uploading a picture non-art related, but at this point I can't physically draw anything as I just don't have the strength.

Reason?
I just got out of surgery about 12 hours ago and feel absolutely nauseous. I tore two ligaments in my left knee about a month ago and they needed to be fixed unless I wanted constant knee problems in the future. So I slept nearly the entire day seeing as I felt like throwing up otherwise. Going to the bathroom...is a pain. Mu current brace pretty much all the way to my crotch so I have to pull it down while balancing uncomfortably on the toilet seat. xD

I also have to use this 8 hours a day for 10 days so I don't build up scar tissue in my knee. I'm in too much pain to use it right now though. So instead I'm just wearing my brace.

BUT THROUGH ALL THIS CRAP, my mom bought me a kitten as soon as we got home from surgery. :D -pokes picture-
Her name is Gaga; I didn't come up with it, that was her name when she got here.

Anyway, so tl;dr version.

I had knee surgery and got a kitten. whoop whoop.
